Marinha Handblown Glass

The Marinha collection is a collaboration with one of the few Glass Masters that remains in Marinha Grande, a village that has been making glass for centuries - ever since the Portuguese Royal Glassworks was drawn there by the rich pine forests that would power its large wood-burning ovens.

The Glass Master handblows each piece using recycled glass, giving it a depth of color and texture that can’t be created any other way.

How are they made? The (very) old-fashioned way.

When I launched Lusitano Studio, my mission was to ethically support Portuguese artisans and keep craft strong. Each piece is handblown by one of the last remaining Master Glass Blowers in Central Portugal with recycled glass which gives it a depth of color and texture that can’t be created any other way.

These traditions have been part of our families for generations, I hope they bring you just as much joy.
